1. Puppies

   Socialization is especially important for puppies to mature into friendly outgoing adults. Not to mention those small bladders. Leaving puppies alone for hours can make potty training a difficult task to accomplish.

2. Bad Dogs

   Often misbehaving when left alone is a result of separation anxiety. Dogs don’t understand why we have to leave and can become angry or sad. Exercise causes the release of endorphins in the brain which can give our dog an overall feeling of well-being.

3. Little Dogs

   Little dogs have to potty more often; little bladders can not wait for 8 to 10 hours to relieve themselves. It is just as important for little dogs to exercise daily to get their legs, heart, and lungs going.

4. Big Dogs

   Big dogs have lots of energy; daily exercise will help to maintain good cardiovascular health and weight. Dogs lacking in a good exercise regimen can become bored or restless and may develop troublesome traits such as digging, barking or chewing.

5. Senior Dogs

   Arthritis is very common in senior dogs and maintaining a healthy weight as well as exercising those joints will help to improve mobility. Plus exercise keeps the muscles strong which helps to keep their joints stable. Even though older dogs tend to sleep more as they age, maintaining a low impact exercise program will help to keep your senior dog happy into the retirement years.

Building a positive social behavior and confidence at Fur the Love of Dogs, daycare is available weekdays from 7 am to 7 pm and Saturday’s 8 am to 5 pm. Reservations are encouraged but not necessary. We ask that your fur friends be picked up at your convenience but before 7 pm during the week or 5 pm on Saturday. There will be a $1.00 charge for every minute past 7 pm during the week and 5 pm on Saturdays. Ask us about our multi-dog discounts!

To ensure the well being and comfort of your pet and our staff, the following rules and regulations are in place for all of our guests.

• All dogs must have up to date vaccinations. Owners must submit written proof of distemper/parvovirus(DHLLP), Rabies and Bordetella vaccinations. We require all vaccinations are done within more than 3 days of entering our play packs. (this goes for re-vaccinations, your pet will need to wait 3 days after receiving to enter play pack again.) Rabies is required for puppies over 4 months of age.
• All dogs must be on heart-worm medication and flea and tick prevention year-round.
• All dogs must be in good health upon admission. All dogs must be free from any condition which could potentially jeopardize other guests. Owners will certify their dog(s) are in good health and have not been ill with a communicable condition in the last 30 days. Dogs that have been ill with a communicable condition in the last 30 days will require a veterinarian release of health to be admitted or re-admitted.
• We encourage the spaying and neutering of your pet to eliminate hormone-driven behavior, but we also realize that some situations are unique. Please feel free to speak with a representative of Fur the Love of Dogs if necessary. Pets over 12 months that are not spayed or neutered will not be allowed in daycare.
• All dogs must pass our meet and greet evaluation to enter our daycare. Dogs will be given a one-hour evaluation prior to admittance. Note: Personality Testing is done on Monday-Friday at 1 pm or Saturday 12 pm please call in advance to set your evaluation appointment.
• All dogs must be non-aggressive and non-protective of food or toys. The owner will sign an agreement that their dogs have not harmed or shown any aggressive or threatening behavior towards any person or other dogs.
• All dogs must wear a flat collar with identification tags attached.
• Aggressive or dangerous behavior is grounds for dismissal.
• Should an emergency arise where a dog is unable to be picked up by 7 pm your pet will be kept at our facility with our overnight rate applied at the owner’s expense.

We wouldn’t keep our dog in a crate for 12 hours so we won’t do it to yours! A pet care specialist is present to cuddle with your pet all night long and there is plenty of comfortable bedding to go around. Best of all your pet has the freedom to choose to sleep on dog beds, blankets or curled up with an employee (always a popular choice).

Also for the safety of our pets and their friends, we require your pet to be on flea/tick & heartworm prevention year-round of your choosing. Although all dogs must be vaccinated and we disinfect regularly, it is still possible for your pet to contract any virus or bacteria.  For this reason, it is important for you to communicate any illness or irregularities you notice with your dog prior to your scheduled stay over.

We are closed for drop off/pick up on these holidays: New years day, Memorial Day,  Easter, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Day. (there is a $25.00 additional charge for holiday stays)

MEDICATIONS:

All medications must be clearly labeled with your pet’s name and administration instructions (time, amount, duration).  Please feel free to include a note with any special care that is needed to be kept in their file while they stay with us.

1. All dogs must pass a meet and greet to participate in our Cage-Free Sleepover or Daycare. Please complete the daycare forms (personality form, policies, and owners agreement) bring the completed forms for each dog, along with proof of current vaccinations to your meet and greet appointment.  All dogs must be current on Rabies, Distemper & Bordetella.
2. All dogs must have attended at least 1 half/full day of daycare prior to scheduling overnight Cage-Free Sleepover stay. This allows our staff to make sure your dog will not be stressed in this daycare play environment.
3. No meet and greet is required for Bed and Breakfast Suites.
4. Please have your dog on a leash and be in control of your dog upon arriving at our office area and parking lot. This is an important step in maintaining a safe environment for all guests and employees.
5. When checking your dog in, please communicate any special needs your dog may require which will help us to care for them like our own. For example allergies, hot spots, wounds, fear, any recent injuries or surgeries, extra love, etc.
6. Have your dog’s personal belongings clearly labeled, including their leash, food and any medications.
7. If requesting fur salon time please indicate this at the time of reservation made.
8. For your pet’s safety and well being during their stay with us, dogs being checked in for overnight cage-free slumber party must be here before 2 pm or 12 pm if your dog is under 1 year old or a high play drive. Dogs are picked up and dropped off during the hours of operation.
9. All dogs must be at least 4 months old, spayed or neutered by 12 months of age and social with both people and all size dogs (for open boarding only) We are able to accommodate all temperments/ages in our Bed and Breakfast Suites.
10. We ask that you please report any feedback, strange behaviors, or illnesses immediately as your pets are our family when you’re away and we care about their overall well-being. It is important for us to be aware of the health and safety of all our fur friends.

• New clients must schedule evaluation time (Mon-Fri at 1 pm or Sat. 12 pm for one hour FREE of charge) and pass the evaluation to participate in Cage-Free overnight services. Bed and breakfast Suites do not require your dog to pass the evaluation.

We are committed to excellent service and professional grooming treatments that are specially designed around you and your dog’s needs. This attention to detail will allow our client’s guardians to go about their daily business knowing their pets are being well cared for.

We book by appointment only. Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and Saturday 9am-5pm. This means at the time you drop off your dog for services they will be receiving their spa treatment within that hour. Head to tail, most dogs are back home smelling fresh and relaxed in no time! (Grooming takes about 90mins for a small-med dog with normal coat conditions, expect 3-4hrs for larger or matted pets)

If you are out and about for the day, you can add an extra $17.00 and pick your dog up when you want to. Your dog will be able to enjoy the relaxed daycare exercise area before and after they get cleaned up. Watch your dog’s enthusiasm grow the next time you say “bath time!” You will quickly notice them getting just as excited at drop off time as they are when you pick them up!

Prices are determined by breed, size of dog and condition of coat. Note that all prices are starting and approximate. For a more accurate price, the groomer must see your pet.

Basic Fur Package

The best way to pamper your best friend is with a Spa Day! We start by thoroughly shampooing with one of our coat enhancing shampoos. We apply a luxurious and nourishing deep conditioning treatment that is great for long or short coats, followed by nail clipping, ear cleaning, a brush out and hair cut upon request. Refreshing all-natural Mango or relaxing Lavender cologne is also applied to leave your fur friend feeling and smelling great after their day at the Spa!

Two Paws

Additional $12.00 to your Basic Fur Package

This package includes everything from the Fur Basic Treatment plus trimming the nails, followed by nail grinding which smooths the rough edges on the nails while saving your floors from scratch marks. The hair on their paws is trimmed between their toes and on the paw pads as needed. Next, our popular tooth brushing using yummy fur friend approved toothpaste to freshen breath and clean teeth. Your Fur Friend will LOVE this treatment and so will your floors!

Additional $18.00 to your Basic Fur Package

All the glorious treatment from the Basic Fur Package and the Two Paws package, plus our highly regarded blueberry facial scrub – a soothing, deep cleansing facial scrub from the muzzle to the head to help get rid of food stains and odor. A must-have for sensitive skin!

Fur Buster

Additional $10-$20 to your groom package

Shedding season is upon us, but we can help keep all that hair under control by reducing the amount of shedding hair by 60%-80%! Our de-shedding package includes a special shampoo and conditioning treatment that works together to nourish healthy skin and coat while releasing the dead undercoat. The bath is followed with a complete blow dry of the coat using our powerful forced-air drier and additional brushing time using special de-shedding tools, including the popular Furminator Tool. While shedding can be a bothersome aspect for our fur friend’s lives it doesn’t have to take over our homes and wardrobes! Bring your fur friend in for our Fur Buster treatment and see results in as little as 1 to 2 treatments. This treatment helps your pet to look and feel their best! This can make your pet’s treatment process a little longer then our 3-4 hours turn around depending on how thick the coat is.

Puppy Package

$25.00 for puppies under 6 months

Designed especially for puppies 8 weeks to 6 months, this package offers a great introduction to grooming for every puppy at an affordable cost. We highly recommend training your dog for adult full groom service to help you and your groomer in the future. Big or Small puppy is bathed with puppy safe shampoo, conditioned, blow-dried & brushed, nails clipped & ears cleaned. Introducing your puppy slowly to scissors & clippers with a face, feet & sanitary clip if requested for all breeds.
